Library Business Office of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Records, 1901-1948

From 1901, when Louis Round Wilson became University Librarian, until 1961, the Library's financial records were maintained by the Librarian or one of his assistants. In 1961 the position of Business Manager was created and given responsibility for financial matters. Twenty-three ledger books containing accounts of expenditures from state funds for books, binding, supplies, and salaries, as well as expenditures from trust funds.

From the appointment of Louis Round Wilson as University Librarian in 1901 until 1961, the Library's financial records were maintained by the Librarian or one of his assistants.
